shanenin
the easiest way to install ubuntu with XP is to make a partition for XP the size you want. Make sure the rest of the harddrive is unallocated(no partition). Now when you install ubuntu second, choose the option, install in free(unallocated) space.
martymas
ok thanksthe secrete is know how to allot the partitionsand the sizeto each syswhich i have to learn yetthanks again ps:ime posting this from ubuntumarty Edited August 2, 2007 by martymas
shanenin
You do not have to manually partition. When installing Window XP, during the beginning of the install, delete all all of your partitions(you will lose your data). Then with the windows XP installer, create a portion of the drive for an XP partition. The rest of the drive that has not been partitioned is unallocated space. Now when you goto install ubuntu, you can just choose to have installed it in the unallocated space. It will partition it for you. Now you will have both XP and Ubuntu on the same drive. You can use Synaptic to install the software available in the repositories.
