Boy marty sounds like a horror story. I would just reformat and go. But you might check out Kelly's Corner for some of that. I think there is a Disable for the run as command on their. As for getting pass the Password stuff you can just get rid of all the passwords by getting rid of the administrators. Or you might create a new user with administrators access without a password and then go in and fix the other stuff. Have you tried Safe Mode? http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm Might try this for the password. http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

How did all of the applications require a password to access them? Was this due to malware effects, the fact that the current Windows user account is not one with Administrator privileges, or a 3rd-party program that password-protects your programs?

  • 1 month later...

in answer to falcons Q

they passworded all

entrys to try and stop the kids

infecting the compt

but it didnt make any difference

in the finish i reinstalled windows

and it was a bugger of a job

as the compt was a hp

with a preinstalled

xp with out a disk to get windows back

it had a recovery console

dell does the same

so we had to delete 4 partitions upon partitions

to clear the hdd

prior to deleting those partitions

it wouldnt let us insall from a floppy nor a cd

thats why hp and dell are ripping the public off

it only takes one disk to install millions of sys

and here they charge $3.000

for one compt

but we had to reinstall windows

and the compt is going ok

through a boot floppy with fdisk and format
