Smegger
OK I have just bought a Vista system, due to my XP system dying on me ..... I have a few programs such as PSP, Dreamweaver, Office XP Pro etc that i bought for the XP system. Is there anything i need to know before trying to get programs such as these to run on vista, ie compatibilty, patches, whatever. Are there any major issues, would it be much simpler to remove vista and go back to XP ???? I simply want and need to run these programs for college. Any help greatly appreciated
garmanma
Heck, I'm still using Office 97 on Xp. This is from M$:"Most programs written for Windows XP also work in Windows Vista, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. For more information about program compatibility, see Make older programs run in this version of Windows. Also, Windows Vista uses the NTFS file system. If you upgrade a computer running Windows XP and using the FAT file system, it will be upgraded to NTFS, which might affect program compatibility."Also, check out this page:support.microsoftMark
