bearskin Posted March 19, 2007 Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 okkkkkkkkk.I'm working on an older computercompaq presario 1998 or 1999 modelI have rebooted and tried just about every key to get to the bios....no wayI unplugged the keyboard and rebooted and it just says keyboard error.I unhooked the hard drive and it said drive 0 not detected.I unplugged the ploppy and it said floppy drive not present.BUT....it still won't let me access the bios setup.any one have any ideas other than junkng the compaq?I would appreciate any and all input on this matter. shanenin Posted March 19, 2007 Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) I think I have also used ESC in the past. I vaguely remember using the combination of ALT with another key. bearskin Posted March 19, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 19, 2007 actually I lied to you.it is a compaq deskpro 2000no hard disk 0.....yeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhkeyboard error.....auuuuuugggghhhhno floppy disk.....oh bleeeeeeeeehhhhhhhflashing cursor.....chit...chit...chitbut....I tried all your suggestions and nothing worked.I finally got the stupid thing running anyway.piece of junk compaq. I hope the power supply burns out.thanks guys.By any chance are you using a usb keyboard? I can't access the bios on my pc unless I use a ps2 keyboard.
