jimras
Wal-Mart recently announced that it will begin offering customers a new discountitem: their own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming upwith Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery of California to produce the spirits at anaffordable price, in the $2- $5 range.Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of WalMart brand intotheir shopping carts, but "there is a market for inexpensive wine," said KathyMicken, professor of marketing at University of Arkansas, Bentonville. She said:"But the right name is important."Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for the Wal Mart wine brand. The top surveyed names:10. Chateau Traileur Parc9. White Trashfindel8. Big Red Gulp7. World Championship Riesling6. NASCARbernet5. Chef Boyardeaux4. Peanut Noir3. I Can't Believe it's not Vinegar2. Grape Expectations. and the Number One Brand Name for Wal-Mart Wine:1. Nasti SpumanteNote: The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that it can be served with either whitemeat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel). blim
Well, Boonesfarm and Ripple (do they still make Ripple?) have competition! I DO have very fond memories of enjoying Boonesfarm Strawberry Hill (do they still make that anymore? Gosh, I'm old...) Liz
robroy
I have seen Boones Farm in the stores Liz so they still make that, but haven't seen Ripple around here. Just don't let Walmart produce their own beer though
