hi all recently i installed ubuntu on a dual boot with

winxp

every thing thing is going well

but i have struck email trouble

i have 2 email clients thunderbird

which is working well and evolution mail

which i like

but it wont send mail

i can recieve mail

i feel it is the smtp option

with

my email provider i can recieve

but sending ime on broad band

with a different provider.

as ime new at this i hope ive explained the problem properly

I would review your settings in thunderbird. Just use the same settings in evolution. If it works in tbird it should also work in evolution.I'm a bit confused by what you mean by "I'm on a different provider."

hi i have different provider for

pop incomming mail

but once i installed cable i had to

set my smtp to the cable company

to send emails

funny thing thunderbird is configured the same and i can send

with it

but evolution

wont except the smtp

password

ive rung the cable company in case ive had it wrong

but they assured me those were the settings

so it must be some thing in the

ubuntu settings

ive tried it a dozen times

the pop provider account runs out on the 23-1-2007

as my contract finishes then
