garmanma
Does anyone have any experience disassembling digital cameras? I've replaced an lcd screen and repaired a circut board before, but this one I've got to fix the zoom lens motor. I've found one sight. It's for a Canon, mine's an Olympus. Hopefully they're pretty generic. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on what to look out for. If I send it out for repair, I might as well add a few bucks and upgrade the camera at the same time, but I figure I'm not out anything if I tryThanksMark
garmanma
Well, I actually got it repaired. What I've learned for anyone who has a zoom camera, is they are more fragile than they look. Keep it in a case when not in use, don't bump or drop it, and the only thing used to clean it with is alcohol. No Windex WD-40 or silicone spray. Best of all is to keep it away from your kidsMark
