darksoul
the hp cdrw drive used to work just fine, i took it out of my old HP and put it into my new computer since it didn't come with a cd burner. and i also put in a LG dvd rom drive from another old computer and they worked fine for a few weeks and now when ever put a cd in the cd burner it freezes and nothing happens when i put a cd into the dvd drive. i never installed drivers, windows was able to detect new hardware and make it work. any advice would be greatly appreciated or even a link to point me in the right direction. sethook
Do you see any problems with the two devices when you check their properties in Device Manager? You can also try uninstalling them and then rebooting to see if your OS will recognize them again.
martymas
you can also go to compt management -disk management on the toolbar look for view-top disk list this will show all your drives on the compt right click= properties and see if you have a drive letter problem you can also up date the drivers in therein the narrow window at the bottom make sure it says this drive is enabledmarty
