Trinn
A file I had recently downloaded wasn't working right, I thought maybe it was the program it opened with, so I changed it. However, I realized later that the problem was something silly and simple, but now I can't stop it from opening with the original program. How do I stop or cancel Open With?! I right clicked, went to properties, clicked changed, browsed, and there were no options to just leave the file alone! I deleted it, and tried to download it again, but that didn't fix a thing. -Seriously chagrined
garmanma
I believe if you use your mouse to right-click on the program, it will offer you the choice of "open with". You can make your selection from there. Choose select program and check the box that says "always use this program"Mark

JDoors
BTW: If you only get an "Open" in the rightclick dialog box, hold the SHIFT key when you rightclick. You should then get the "Open With" dialog that has a checkbox for "Always ... " to make the change permanent. (Old-timers advice, might just apply to '9x)
