Hello Marty,

Thanks for the scoop on that browser. I hadn't even heard of it before.

Just checked a link I had on reviews of browsers...and here is what it had to say about phaseout. I haven't done a Google search for pros and cons of it though.

This quote is from:Research Launchpad older review of Alternative Browsers

"PhaseOut is a specialty browser really aimed at gamers, chatters, and people running more than one monitor. It has a Flash interface and is highly visual and interactive. The big feature here is the ease of use in full screen mode. If you have two monitors, this browser is a good choice as you can use one monitor to run the browser in full screen mode and put the small control panel (like a remote control) in the other window. It’s fun, but not intended for business users. You can get it at www.phaseout.net."

I have been thinking of trying out Maxthon browser (based on IE). It sounds like it's user friendly, and the webpage has lots of detailed how-tos for untech people like me.

Hi Marty, I just searched for phaseout.net on Google and with McAfee Site Advisor the first bunch of hits are all highlighted in red. Red is bad from Site Advisor and when I mouseover the link it shows there are XX amount of bad downloads on that site. One of the hits had 138 bad downloads with it!

I highly suggest downloading this small browser add on for IE and Firefox only at this time.

When you search with Google, Yahoo! or MSN, SiteAdvisor's safety ratings appear next to search results.

As you browse, a small button on your browser toolbar changes color based on SiteAdvisor's safety results.

Menu options on SiteAdvisor's toolbar let you customize SiteAdvisor or see a site's detailed test results.

Detailed test results for every site are just one click away.

Thank you Mike!!!

I have Mcafee Site Advisor sitting in the box with Mcafee's AV and Firewall waiting for my current subscription to run out before I install them. I was wondering what Site Advisor was and wondering if I should even install it. Now I know how it works, and I know I will install it, thanks to you!

You're welcome Liz. Yes you can install it regardless of wether or not you have their firewall or anti virus; it is a stand alone add on for IE and Firefox. I hear they are working on it for Opera.

I put this on every computer I work on all over the place. It helps my businesses stay away from crap sites; thus in turn saving me work fixing malware.
