Joeybuttta
I just purchased a Sony DRU830A DVD burner and set it as master. My old DVD burner drive is a HP DVD300i, which is set as the slave.I keep getting I/O errors when trying to burn DVDs using DVD Decrypter on the new Sony drive. It seems like there is some kind of compability issue. Has anyone else experienced or know what might be the problem? When I remove the HP and just have the Sony installed as the master, it seems to work fine....burns DVDs with no problem.Running on Windows 2000 O/S.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you,Joe
Honda_Boy
leave the jumper on CS (cable select) on both drives and see what happens.
shanenin
leave the jumper on CS (cable select) on both drives and see what happens. That was my thought also, but I think you need 80 wire ide cables to support that featue. deaf_girl
The simply solution is to remove the HP Burner out.But also, in DVD Decrypter, which burner is selected in the source window?HP or Sony?
Aluvus
Make sure the drive configured as Master is at the end of the cable, and the drive configured as Slave is in the middle of the cable.
Joeybuttta
I think I had a bad ribbon cable. I started having I/O errors with just the master (Sony) drive installed so I figured it was the cable. Once I changed out the cable, everything seems to be fine now. Thanks for the help.Joe
