  1. This is the work around from Yahoo. Bring up yahoo mail. OPTIONS>GENERAL PREFERENCES AND THEN SELECT THE BUTTON "COMPOSE MESSAGES AS PLAIN TEXT". Then click save. This will give you your cut n paste back. You will be able to send live links but not pictures.

Hope this helps anybody else who might have the same problem.

  2. I would like to get around 44-C or less with this if possible... Right now at about 48-C to 50-C...

    "AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+", using a " Raidmax X-1 ATX Mid-tower Case w/420W Power Supply" Standard Heatsink & Fan...

It's getting a bit warm running SETI@Home on both the cores at 100% CPU Usage while surfing and listening to Music...

2 of these USB Fans http://www.meritline.com/usb-fan.html One blowing IN the intake and the other blowing directly on my FX5500 & SB X-Fi cards lowered the temps 10 to 12 degrees as per Everest readings on my puter case..Not that they needed it..$20 bucks and that includes shipping...........

  3. How does one remove the internal fan in an Emachine T3624 to clean behind it?

    See fan picture-

    http://i1.tinypic.com/mj8nwz.jpg

    Thank you.

That picture is not real clear but if those are 4 screws on top there then I have the same set-up and all I did was unscrew the fan there and used a artists brush with long soft brissels and cleaned out the fan blades and the silver heat sink while holding a vacuum tube next to it..but if those aren't screws, then follow the advise above..

  4. Ordered the video card...Thanks kidcnote...now, what about the cost of the power supply and where should I buy it?

This is where I got mine. http://www.pixpond.com/1/45sykh.jpg (See your T1440 Number there on the bottom right) As with your e-machine, my T2200 also has the standard 250W..I upgraded to a 400W - 450 Max replacment for $39 as shown in the picture.. http://store.911forpcs.com/911forpcs/frshbeatposu.html I upgraded to 400W because I added a FX5500 vid card and a Creative X-Fi so I'm glad now I did.. The FX 5500 will run on 250W. No problems with the Power Supply box size as it's the same. Comes with a good warrenty..Free shipping.. Only 5 wires to hook up so it was fast..I'll save the old 250W for hard times..;O/

  5. Which one would you try to replace first, video card or power supply? And, is the part to replace like changing a regular vido card, or is it where the monitor cable plugs in (inboard card???)? And, a good recommendation for where to get it (need low cost solution, I am an elementary school teacher...'nuff said!) Same goes for any information if you think it is the power supply...my guess is video card...but I am just good enough to mess things up

    Mario

You can get a eVGA FX5500 Video card from Tigerdirect for less then $50 after rebate http://tinyurl.com/89hy8 and it runs on a 250W Power supply (Minimum recq) There very EZ to install http://directron.com/howtovideo.html You may need to upgrade to a bigger Power Supply later but I wouldn't worry about that now..If you get a new vid card then don't forget to disable the onboard video

  6. I'm working on upgrading my system. I have a Aspire Q-pack case, with a WD 250GB and NEC 16x DVD Burner. I want to replace the mobo, CPU and RAM ( to pc 3200)

I want to get from Newegg.com, a AMD 3500+ with 1GB of Corsair ValueSelect RAM. My question is about this Mobo & onboard video

    Gigabyte

    Should I get it?

Hang off till next yr.. ;O) http://www.pixpond.com/1/10onn9.jpg

Deaf_Girl is not building a server so would have no use for quad core.

I know. That was a joke..

  7. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...in/advance.mspx

Microsoft announced that it would release a security update to help protect customers from exploitations of a vulnerability in the Windows Meta File (WMF) area of code in the Windows operating system on Tuesday, January 2, 2006, in response to malicious and criminal attacks on computer users that were discovered last week.

Microsoft will release the update today on Thursday, January 5, 2006, earlier than planned.

The security update will be available at 2:00 pm PT as MS06-001

  8. Ok so I'm getting old and lately have noticed that I don't see like I used to.After a few hours on the computer I am getting headaches and my glasses don't seem to work anymore. I am thinking eye strain. So.....could a few of you that have or do use BOTH give me some advice as to whether a flat panel LCD would be easier on my eyes?

I have a 19" NEC Multisync 97F and I just toggle (CTRL + Mouse Wheel ) to get bigger fonts. I had that for 3 yrs and then I got this http://www.pixpond.com/1/os2as.jpg LCD about 3 months ago and this is LESS eye strain then the analog. But the analog really wasn't that bad..I think anything you stare at for anymore then a few hrs is gonna strain the ole eyeballs no matter what..I don't hardly game either and I bought my GeForce FX5500 vid card for the DVI-Svideo output..and an eye check up couldn't hurt either ;O) http://www.pixpond.com/1/2h7j7.jpg

  9. actually to the audio file (ex: my brother) it can make a HUGE difference with some good speakers (ex: Klipsch or Bose) or good head phones.

Which I have both, Bose Puter speakers and Pioneer HDJ-1000 headphones. http://www.djdeals.com/pioneerHDJ1000.htm Theres somethings you can skimp on, other things I won't..I can afford the F-Xi's with no problem..If you can't afford a single CNote for quality, then unplug your puter and strap on that AM Mono to your ears and enjoy..

  10. I'm in search of a sound card due to the fact that my on board sound has started to act up on me. Sabrent sound card. Is this a good sound card for just day to day things like listening to music and such. I'm just looking for sometime that can get the job done and not to fancy like. Thanks.

I just ordered this 20 min ago cuzz I REALLY want to get the job done. http://www.pixpond.com/1/itmhf.jpg

  12. I have a emachines c2782 and got 128MB of ram from a freind to put into it, when i did this i started it up and it says i only have 320MB total (originally 256) im gussing the missing 64MB's is being shared with the onboard video card, however i use an aftermarket video card and dont need the onboard one so how do i disable the onboard video card from using my ram?

I heard that you go to System Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>Display Adapters>Once in there you'll see your onboard info and then can disable it. I was told this was done but came back on (re-enabled) itself for some reason several times.. Try it anyways or go the BIOS route Tapping on the Del Key when the eMachine logo comes up..

  13. I agree with Preston that a Power supply upgrade is probably in order also, you can get 400/450W PS for cheap nowadays, to fit any machine.

If you're just looking for a very decent, affordable card with TV out, look at the ChainTech GeForce FX 5200, it's a very decent card, AGP 8X or you can get it for PCI, and it's very affordable.

I would consider this card as a good replacement for an onboard graphics chip, for medium duty gaming and such.

Thanks guys, thats the info I was looking for..you've come through again ;O)

  14. I'm currently using my eMachine T2200 desktop with the factory installed Prosavage. I saw this post below and am needing advise/instruction on how to disable as stated below and I'd like to upgrade to a TV in/out card. I don't need the best out there but just want to improve on what I already have to work with..I need suggestions on what I could and whats compatible to use, model numbers for a video card ect ect.. TIA..

(The ProSavageDDR graphics function is contained within the Northbridge chip itself, and, as such, cannot be changed or upgraded. It can, however, be disabled, (in most cases) on a desktop system, and a separate video card may be used in it's place. Desktop systems that use the ProSavageDDR, (ProSavage 8), almost always have an AGP slot, so if a replacement video card is being considered, that would be the best solution. Alternately, a PCI-based card can be used if there isn't an AGP slot available. Either way, there is a great potential for improved performance over the integrated graphics, as well as the benefit of having up to 32Mb of RAM returned for system use that was previously being used for graphics.)

I cannot decide if you are asking or advising here. If you are advising you need to post a reply to the post you are refering to. If you are asking how to disable the onboard Graphics it is Obvious in the BIOS if you boot into it. I have basically the same system had it done in 5 secs 2years ago. For those who cannot afford a new GPU and do not need gaming perfomance (like you'd get from the savage) you can adjust to 16mb instead of 32mb which is adequate to do most common stuff.

Thanks for your reply Preston - I'm asking as I want to upgrage my APG card to (tv in/out) and saw this http://tinyurl.com/8tgvp and I'm not sure what my T2200 could handle (Thats why I need recomindations) and I assume from my first post that my current prosavage had to be disabled if I added a new APG card..

  16. Whats up guys...

    I have a question.

I use both Winamp and WMP 10, and it seems like Winamp offers better sound quality, but I prefer to use Windows Media Player, is there a plugin for WMP that improves the sound quality?

    Thanks and G'nite!

I use this with Musicmatch and it's really brings out the bang on my Bose puter speakers. I use the free version and it sounds great.. Works with Winamp also..

  17. Your computer will automatically see the increase in RAM and begin using it.

If your Virtual Memory (Paging File) size is set to cSystem Managed that will automatically adjust as well.

If it's set manually (Custom Size) you will need to increase it yourself.

1.5 times the RAM size is the figure I've seen recommended most.

(But in my and many other's opinion System Managed is the best setting).

Thanks Curlingb - Thats what I needed to know..I always see 2 or 3 different answers to the same question on which is better - System Managed or Custom..I use custom now but to be safe I'm going now to change it to Sys Managed to be ready when I pop in the new 512 Monday..

    Thanks again..

  18. All you have to do is pop out the stick you want to replace and put in the new one (with the system off of course)

That's all to it - in case you need pictures or anything I'm sure you can google for a instructional guide

Hi xxkbxx, We're you replying to me or LiXindi ? I'm adding 512 to my already existing 512..and still nedd to know if I have to increase my Virtual memory ??

    Thanks again..

  19. Try the info at Crucial.com. Good memory, fully guaranteed and nice folks to deal with.

I just ordered 512MB for my T2200 eMachine from crucial..I saw it and waited a few days and sure enough It was 10% off just 3 days later (This was 5 days ago)..Crucial makes it very EZ with the way they set you up..Now my question. When I get it, do I just install it, turn my machine back on and the new memory will automatically be recognized ?? and on my "Performance Options" my Vitual memory is currently at 720MB now..When I get my new mem do I increase this up to a GB ??

    TIA
