Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good program to record internet radio broadcasts. There are some shows that I like listening to, but I dont get to listen to it when it is first played. I have to wait a few weeks before they are made into podcasts. I was hoping to record them and listen to them much earlier then 3 or 4 weeks out. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
bj

I use the Creative Soundblaster recorder that came with the soundcard. Select the audio type/source and record.

Well it's not my computer, it is my friends (I just helped him out).
AMD Sempron 3000+ (Socket 754) CPU
Chaintech VNF3-250 nForce3 250 Motherboard
PQI Power Series 512MB Ram x2 = 1GB
Rosewill CD-RW Optical Drive
Western Digitel 80GB Hard Drive
XFX NVidia 6800 Video Card
Rosewill Value Black Steel case w/350 PSU
Think it will be any good? Remember, he was on a TIGHT budget. ($500)

Since last week I have been having some rather annoying difficulties with my system: I am using a windows ME system by the way. when I right click a file and then go to open with it usually shows some of the recent programs I used on it but the entire open with option is gone and I have no idea how to get it back or how it left. On top of that I have found that my internet connection constantly logs me off and on and slows my connection speed to a snail's pace. I have tried fully updated ad-aware searches and a fully updated norton's anti-virus scan and have come up with nothing, I used hijack this and came up with a clean log. I also tried something called a squared and came up with nothing as well. My sister who also uses the computer enjoys installing, uninstalling and then re-installing games onto the computer all within 72 hours and I was wondering if that could have an effect on what is going on with the computer as well.

I saw this poseted online:

I have WinME and Last week I lost the "Open With" right click option. How do I get it back. It used to be available with every file allowing me to open a registered file with an alternate program but now I cant, It doesn't even come up with un-registered files anymore.
Thank you in advance.

Good morning *yawn*
Stayed up way too late last night. No, it wasn't the rum at Whiskeyman's Pub That was my excuse for the night before  At least the pool got baptized, or I did, oh crap, now I'm getting confused.
It was windy and while the dog isn't afraid of thunderstorms, she is afraid of wind, so I had to stay downstairs with her sitting on my feet. Makes me almost wish she slept upstairs on the bed, but then again thinking of her doghair running amok with the dustbunnies..... (people with upstairs bedrooms can be lazy housekeepers )
No smoking in the house for me--and wow, what a difference it makes. Aside from the dog slobber and kids handprints, the windows stay so much cleaner!!!
Iceflyer, isn't it ridiculous that those fun games were banned from schools? I was constantly getting pummelled (probably due to my "nah, nah's" and smartaleck remarks) I loved those games. It was the Soccermoms not allowing to have anything bad happen to their little darlings.....   My son plays soccer, but I am NOT a Soccermom, and I know plenty of Soccermoms whose little darlings have never touched a soccer ball. It's all in the attitude.
Ooooh, I'm getting inspired. Where's the rant page????

Simple answer:
Let the kids play, and the parents watch.

OK, I wrote a perfectly good boring post and it dissapeared!! Floating around collecting dust bunnies with the other post I lost, I suppose.
Last night I was doing just dandy, walked in the front door, noticed some activity in back, discovered Whiskeyman's Pub, then discovered the second page of smilies (it's Mikex and TG's fault, they instigated it, arrgghhh !!!) and fell in the pool. Someone tripped me, I'm sure!!! When did all this remodeling happen??? I thought the cafe was just getting bigger. It's going to have to be called a resort pretty soon.
Son is watching Dodgeball (the sport, not the movie, it's actually on television!) and one of the sportscasters was talking about a player, saying,
"he's one of the smartest players in the league, he actually went to high school".
What amazes me is that Dodgeball is actually on television!! I loved that game in school. I was little, fast and wiry and had a "wee bit o' a mouth" on me Had no arm, though.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think towards my last years in high school they were talking about banning dodge ball .... throwing a ball at your best buds was the best! heh, and not so best buds too ... Dodgeball, Kickball ..ah the best ... used to play some game called "Kick" where there'd be two side, like faced off against one another like a Civil War battle line, and there'd be about a dozen or so balls and you could wither kick it out from your hands, or put it on the groud, run at it, and kick it off ...of course there'd be speedy people who would run to the other side and try and kick the ball away before you could kick it yourself, and others who would throw a ball at the other side to knock the other ball from being kicked ...others like me, hah, would sneak across, hide amongst the enemy team, and block the players kick, or swipe a ball and steal it and run back to the other side. ...ah..those were the days ..I'm glad I can remember it still lol!

Here's the simple IceFLYER answer that may rhyme. But really here goes, on the spot...
Just be you
Try not for cool
For cool is already in you
In your heart
In that warm beating place...
Not the shades on your face
Not the fabrics
Be it leather or lace...
Just ignore the bullies
who's mentality
Is certainly "pre-schooly" ...
But if you find that push comes to shove
The other IceFLYER solution
Is to find a pretty girl
A high school sweetheart love!
The mean guys'll be him?! her?! what?! why?!
And the girls'll think those looks
Are pretty cute!
But we'll call it "cool"
Not the other
which'll make ya puke...
So to overview
One: Be You
Two: Ignore punks, drunks, and if possible the fistitcuffs
Three: Charm the girls, for plenty of puckerups!!!
-IceFLYER
...yaaa....
-
Hey again all!!! I'll just call ya'll "all".
Heh, but, I'm guessing, you all being tech savvy, that perhaps you can help me out with a few tips?
I'm trying to get a big keyword list. Nothing computer related, but related to computers in that the keywords, terms, etc. are all regarding careers in computers. I'm looking for examples of job titles, and descriptions of such titles...like ...a computer career dictionary of sorts???
Anybody know of any such webpages? Or got a dictionary on mind?
Okay, I'm in your debt... Thanks all! and I'll keep up my searching too

love most!
AlmostArtafact I'm sure expresses
his sorrow.
Please, wear your spam boxers proud
...later...way later...tomorrow...
Even lanimass
who pointed out the oddity of such a post
chipped in and taught us something new.
Who knew
about the Pacific’s love of the canned good?
I can tell you,
"few"
TommyBaseball
threw in some educational words too
and sung a song,
an ode to you...
...spam...
by Terry Jones, Michael Palin
and Fred Tomlinson...
The skit from Monty Python.
(which was found,
with the super search skills of tech,
by jdlech)
...a follow up chorus,
was sung by a fellow spam hero! jla930
And then there's TheTerrorist_75
Despite the love of the mystery meat
I'm sure he's not a bad guy, or girl?
But that's okay with me, I really don't care
for you did provide several good recipes!
..even if off by a few "3000" degrees...
On to our buddy
straightedge2003
What would we have done?
without another spam song sung!
From Save Ferris.
And who left us with a debate...
Which is better for researching spam flavors:
Pentium, or AMD?
And if you recall mirage959
left us to grapple
with what the heck was scrapple!?
And there's miketwo
who loves spam burgers too
And JDoors with more
recipes for the munchies,
...just add macaroni and cheese...
Now, granted...we've had our protests
like DodgeMe_2003…
of course he got sick...
must have been something...
watch what you eat...
And of course we should,
as idatwice2 filled us in
with the health clues about cholesterol
and fat.
But it ended on a good note.
It ended with someone
who provide a lot! Probably the most.
It was rv_56 and the many links
to places where we could explore
or favorite blue canned mystery good eats.
And within the time it takes to wink,
The post had died...
The threads undone...
Techtv took away our fun...
But, thanks to them it's back again!
So everybody post!

?whats the best antivirus?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I've had problem with Norton in the past, or, at least uninstalling Norton. Something about an XL.exe... Mcafee is nice but once it expires it'll keep giving you the update reminder and I can't seem delete the Windows Task it creates to keep reminding me to update it. Can't say what's best but thought I'd just add some odd occurances with the two I know. Mcafee interface has a lot of windows to navigate, but a lot of options to play with.

Long time no see my friend. Sure have missed you!!!
We'll be glad to have you and your poems at the cafe. Lots of musicians around to even set them to music maybe.
How has life been treating you, other than the recent G4 blues bug? That was a mighty fast spreading virus and a nasty one at that. So for everyone that has been hit by it, this is a good place to recuperate.
Lots of caring folks here.
Just don't go MIA on them or they send out search parties!
Enjoy the best boards around.
Pat.
God bless everyone.

Hey hey Sidekick! It has been a long time! Well ,I'll still be skiing down some hill or on one of those tabogans (spell check big time) if that's still the image you have (if I recall correct) but I'll try and write a note, like, "Away" or something ..good to see familiar faces and the welcomes (extra thumbs up) ..so where's this Cyber Cafe again?
