I would like to know how to disable the dropdown list of typed urls in the address bar. I know how to clear them but not how to stop it all together. also how to stop the list in the search bar. thanks for any help

I'm using xp and have cable so my pc 's logs on auto. what I want to do is have it where I have to use a password to log on . how do I go about doing this . thanks for any help

I'm using avast antivirus and adware spyware and super anti spyware. I recently was gave a free trend micro security system software by my internet provider, Should I use it and uinstall avast and explorer firewall or keep what I have. I know theres some good and bad about all of them. Thanks for any advice

I'm looking for a good search engine, I'm using google now, but I want to get away and try something else. I'm not to keen on yahoo either. Do any of you know of another. I reformatted my nieces pc. she has xp and 1 gig of memory. she is always getting a " insufficient memory error". she was getting it before I reformatted. Her pc was a total mess and needed it. she also has a printer she uses to print large photos. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. But if anyone can help me with this I'll be forever grateful

I just bought a router and don't know much about'em. I bought a linksys if that helps. My question is how do I know if its working? And all I did was connect it up. Do I have to configure it in a special way or can I leave it as is ? Thanks for any help

I don't want to copy any copy protected movies. maybe I didn't make myself clear, I want to back up my computer and need a program that will let me do that. I have a dvd burner, and they are used for other things besides making copys of copy protected mess. I need something that write to a dvd. sorry if I broke any kind of rules

When I connect my friends pc to my monitor , the green light will stay on for a few seconds then turn orange.I tried another monitor and the same problem. The monitor was working with his pc before we disconnected it . any help would be great. thanks

I have xp , and when I go to some websites, I have some of the images missing. I have enabled active scripting but nothing seems to work. there will be a blank space on both sides of the page. will be grateful for any help in advance.

I recently bought a new computer with windows xp sp2 on it from Dell. And it didn't come with a reinstall disk or anything to reinstall windows xp. Is there a way to manually do this or a way to get a reinstall disk?

I know that I'm alittle late, but haven't on her in awhile. but when I did't get a disk, all I did was call dell at 1-800-624-9896 and ask for a mri cd kit and documentation, and in about 2 or 3 days it came in the mail . Hope this helps some. But I did talk to some guy in India, and could barely understand him.

I recently did the same thing. bought a new dell but had no reinstall disc. Iwas told to call dell and ask for one. Thats what I did , and in a couple of days I got it

I don't know if this is what you're talking about but all I did was make a new folder called my desktop and then I drag the icons I don't use so often into it. now all I have on my desktop is only a few and my desktop folder.

I have xp. I also have an aopen 16xdvd-rom/ amh. My problem is that it won't recognize a dvd. It'll play a cd. I don't have a installation disc. The only thing I knew to try was unstall it in device manager then restart. Didn't work. I also have added a dvd burner and it works fine. I can use it, but I'd like to know why my dvd rom won't work? Thanks for any help in advance.

I have a kodak esp7 printer, I have it connected wireless but now I want to connect by ethernet cable. what I need to know is how to reset the printer to like it was the way I bought it. Will be grateful for any help.
