  1. I don't have an OS disk and safe mode brings up the same problem. Anything else?
  2. I got Reader_S on my Windows XP laptop and in the process of purging it ended up deleting a lot of infected system files. I'm pretty sure the virus is gone, but the computer won't start up again. I originally thought that this was because of the system files, but I got some help in another thread that allowed me to replace the system32's, so the computer should have been fine, but it wasn't. It still won't log on. It gets to the welcome screen and accepts my password, and I get to the point where I can see my background, then it logs me off again. Any advice? I need to access the old files I h
  3. I've followed your instructions, but I can't get MagicISO to burn RCplus to CD. I've tried CD-Rs and DVDRs, but it recognizes neither as being in the drive. Is there any way to make it do so, or any way around that? It recognizes the burner but nothing I put in it.
  4. Thank you for answering my question, I was a bit worried. I'm not sure how the old laptop could be fixed other than by reinstalling windows. It gets to the XP welcome screen, but it can't log on and won't go into safe mode or anything.
  5. I'm already done with the old laptop. I can't even log into it, it's a lost cause. I'm only concerned about plugging my MP3 player into a new laptop since it was charging when I got the virus initially. The only thing on it is music, but I don't know if Reader_s could infect it another way. I've already researched the virus and I knew that the laptop was a lost cause when it lost connection with the internet and my antivirus had to delete most of the system 32 files. I just want to know if I have to reset the MP3 player since I've heard other people say that they transferred it from computer t
  6. I got Reader_S on my old laptop, had an antivirus run through it, the laptop is now unusable since so many of the system files had to be deleted. When I got the virus, though, I had my MP3 player charging. I've heard conflicting stories on the internet about whether or not Reader_S infects MP3 players and can travel through them to other computers. Does anyone know if this actually happens? Do I need to reset my MP3 player? I don't want to ruin my new laptop, too.
