that is what i want , over write the data thats on the hard drive. having never done this i was not sure , there are 4 disks for recovery, hopefuly it is some thing i can do thanks for the help. jerrys

the question is if instead of formating my hard drive i instead wipe it clean with software can i still use the recovery disks that came with the machine? i want top give this machine away but dont want any information left on it, i never received a windows xp disk , it must be part of the recovery disks. it is a sony machine. thanks jerrys

[Dvd-rw Drives]

I have posted on this before but after doing all the things sugested , Iwould like to see if some one might have another one? My problem is I have a pioneer dvd-rw dvr-103 drive I have had this since 2002 and never needed to burn a dvd till now,as i am trying to make a dvd slide show, I have a sony 1.8 gh rx580 pen4 computer i have updated the firm ware and have used various burning software, but when it comes time to burn the disk ill get a pop up disk drive error? no problem playing dvd or cd , no problem burning cds . any help ? before i put in a new burner . thanks jerrys

I have a c drive partition that has 4.80 gb left out of 20 gb, d drive has 57 gb left out of 60 gb , my question is how or can the partion be moved to get more space on c drive? thanks jerrys

i need some advice on how to make a photo slideshow and burn it to a dvd i have a pioneer dvd-rw dvr103 recorder, since i havent burned to any thing other than a cd im not sure of what kind of dvd disk to use, is dvd-r right? . thanks for any advice given. jerrys

i have a problem in windows my picture file. some picture files not all , when i try to open a picture i get the following message, this application has failed to start because libfontconfig-1.dill was not found reinstalling this application may fix this problem. i have done a search on google and ab lot of pointing is done to a program called gimp i do not have that program installed any help? thanks jerrys

i sure dont know much so bear with me please! i have win xp home , the hard drive is 80 gb, my partition is c 20 gb d 60 gb , the c drive is at 16gb and the d is at 60gb of free space , can i move things like photos and videos to the d drive? or do i need a geek to do it for me? thanks for bearing with me . jerry

[Problem After Sp2 Install]

After installing sp2 i have the following problem, when i go to my pictures and try to open folders to view the photos some but not all im not able to view the phots and get the following message THIS APPILACATION HAS FAILED TO START BECAUSE LIBFONT CONFIG-1.DILL WAS NOT FOUND RE-INSTALLING THE APPLICATION MAY FIX THIS. if i unstall sp2 every thing works fine , all pics are viewable. any sugestions? thanks schilleg
