you could just uninstall them all. upon next reboot they should reinstall automatically. If something goes wrong and system restore is working properly, it should roll things back to the way they were. Just before doing it, I would make a new restore point. I uninstalled the Audio Device and it reinstalled itself automatically. However, the problem is still present.

Incompetence. Did they tell you why they did not try and fix the issue you needed fixed, just curiousAs Mark stated, you probably just need to let windows reinstall the drivers. If windows is unable to reinstall them after you deleted them, you may have to install them from scratch. What model computer do you have, i am having trouble finding the driver based on your belarc output? lol. nope they never gave a reason why they didn't fix the problems. I've been back there a couple of times and they've just apologised, etc. I'm just sick of having to keep going back and forths, and no improvemen

Hi guys, Here's the msg everytime I try to play a sound file: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." Also, when I go to Sound and Audio Device Properties (i.e.control panel --> sound & audio -->volume) it says "no sound device". I tried taking it to a computer service place, and even though I gave them specific things to fix, they just search it for viruses (of course coming up with nothin

Icons Turned To Generic
garrett_187 replied to garrett_187's topic in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
i've tried that already - here r some of the things i can remember trying: - registry fixes off internet (i.e. Kelly's Korner etc) - resizing the icons - deleting the icon cache - making the icon cache bigger - changing the resolution of my screen - refreshing the desktop (even though this problem goes beyond just the desktop) that's about all i can remember for now. Any other suggestions? -
Icons Turned To Generic

yup -
Most of my icons have turned to the generic icon (i.e. white with a blue strip at the top). This has happened everywhere - on the desktop, in the start menu and even when i right-click a file an select 'Open With'. I've tried every fix i could find on the internet and nothing has worked. Any suggestions?
