Church Campus Wireless Network.

Recommended Posts

Ok we, at my church, want to set up a wireless network to share the broadband connection from the church's main building to a computer upstairs from the main connection, the parsonage(preacher's house), and the district superintendents office (another building). They are all on the same campus and real close to each other.the parsonage's drive way even connects to the church's parking lot and the DS's office is right next to the parsonage and those 2 are right behind the church. SO what I need to know is long distance networking. I need a high gain router and whatnot. The thing is, I know practically nothing about networking particularly multibuilding wireless. I know something like my home Belkin Router and Foxconn wireless card isn't strong enough for this application. What would a long range router have? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

A "long range router", as you put it, will simply have more powerful antennae. Approximate distances and obstructions would help determine how powerful your antennae would need to be.
