Sometimes when im playing games Counter strike source and Bf2 i get framrate problems. Normally soon after that I freeze up and have to do a manual shut off. I was able to close Counter strike as soon as I noticed the slowdown and found that my CPU was at 100% with no processes really there using it all. I opened up event viewer and came across a bunch of errors. I took a screenshot.

What does this mean?

this would lead me (Im going out on a limb...here)

but it looks like you have one of two problems..

a bad harddrive controller..

or a bad harddrive..

(ok it could be cables or heat)

that is where I would start...

1. Check Device Manager for any errors for the IDE controller. Drivers may be missing or corrupted. If a problem is detected reinstall drivers.

2. Scan for any viruses for they can cause this problem.

3. Check the IDE cable to the hard drive. Test by using another one.

4. Run the diagnostic software from the manufacturer for your hard drive.

Reply with any findings after you have done all.

Device Manager said everything was alright

0 Viruses

I replaced the cable and am using a differnt slot on the board

Ran the Diagnostic and everything turned out fine

Normally this problem occurs when I am playing Counter strike or battlefield. Ill post again If i experiance it again.
