Hey guys Im looking for a free firewall wich lets me set custom ports. Iv tried zonealarm, kerio, and tiny firewall and all will only let you set custom ports in the PRO versions. Anybody have an suggestions?

Thats usually the case in most free things like this Sid, the more advanced features are only available in the paid versions. I'm not sure you'll find one for Windows that will do this in a free version, unless there's an open source one that's been ported for windows systems somewhere.

Good Luck tho!

Now, I don't know if these firewalls let you monkey with the ports (that's way beyond me) and I don't know if a "free with rebate" is still free in your opinion, but right now Mcafee and Norton have rebate deals.

Free after Rebate (Mcafee is on the front page and Norton is on page 2 )

(kudos to Barb for that site!)

You can open ports with the Windows firewall that came with SP2.

Understanding Windows firewall

I rarely see a reason anyone would need to run a 3rd party firewall in Windows. Windows firewall is more than sufficient as a host centric firewall for most users.
