All I want is to set up and use one SATA harddrive.

I connect the data cable from the sata hd to SATA0 on the motherboard , use the power adapter to connect power. Install the SATA driver that come with the board. The question is that: Do I still have to go into the SATA BIOS Setting to choose raid 0 or raid 1, create array, block size, select boot array...etc as mentioned in the motherboard manual? What are those setting for? Thanks.
