Now that I have my sound fixed (thanks Dragon!) I am unable to play any of my music files that have the .cda extension? I went into folder options and checked to see, and it is associated with Windows Media player, but won't play. windows sounds work and so do mp3 songs...help? Thanks :)

Note that the actual music tracks on a CD are usually WAV files that you can't see; the CDA files on a CD act as a table of contents for software that "point" to these hidden music tracks. If the Player is registered to open CDA files, but you still can't play the CD, the CD may not have been created using CD-burning software (that is, the CDA files, but not the music files, were copied to the CD).

What exactly happens when you try to play the file? Can you play them on any other computer?

Yes I'm blonde......a real blonde. I thought I could just click on the cda file and it would play, no? So basically you mean I have to put the CD in that I burned these onto to play the songs? I'm such a ditz sometimes...I can play mp3s no problem....the cda works great when I put the cd in

Thanks :matrix:
