Actually, I think its a JOKE and a disgrace to the true CFH!

All that G4 did was realize that they made a HUGE mistake in closing the Tech Support board, and in a vain attempt to save members from leaving, they renamed it Call For Help....gimme a break!!

I personally think that G4 raped TTV for all it could get, mainly membership, then they tried to strip the last vestiges of TTV from G4 by closing Tech board. After realizing their error in thinking, they're trying desperate measures to retain as many folks as they can by renaming the board instead of closing it, and using a popular old TTV show name shows how low they will sink over there...

We've been working for a few months towards some pretty big changes in how we do things within our department.

Those changes are finally happening.

The Message Boards and how they are run will be changing along with us.

THE CHANGES:

1. New Admins, new roles

Steve will be taking on a bigger content role, and his fellow producers will be stepping in to take bigger message board roles.

Starting this week, there are three more admins who will be handling certain message boards.

Here's how it looks to us:

Chickytown = boss of 'em, will interfere when necessary

The_D = Cheat, Judgment Day, Electric Playground, G4 Sports, half of the new Whip Set Forum.

Kanoe = Barbed Wire Biscuit, Cinematech, Icons, Formula D

loudlivinlady = X-Play, Filter

frankmeyer = G4tv.com the show, half the whip set forum

coury = Attack of the Show

Other boards we're all going to share the admin junk on.

2. Even more relaxing of rules

Now of course, you don't have to encourage any of this, but you now don't have to punish for any of it, either.

Cussing is okay. We will keep offensive, degrading terms in filter. Will take out “shitâ€, etc. If it passes the filter, it's okay. We're basically taking out of the filter your garden-variety cusswords.

Relax image rules. As long as it’s not nudity/porn, it’s okay. No nipples, no genitalia. Bare booty=ok. Ogling threads = ok

Links to porn/adult crap ok as long as identified as such

Make mods abandon their weird, made-up rules ***Each admin will bring these up as needed

The ever-popular calm the hell down about spam, etc.

3. Senior Mods

To go along with our new multi-admin structure, we are asking most mods to also specialize on a handful of boards, rather than take a global approach. We think that this will lighten the loads for many of you, and allow you to concentrate on boards you like and on the boards that need the most help (like off-topic and less popular shows).

To this end, the Senior Mod designation will mean that the mod has global mod privs. The senior mods are:

Acrifolium

Kimnrowdy

MissFae

UltraWarrior

Baxter

sbkMulletMan

Tedakin

In addition, mods who have been inactive for a while will be demodded, at least until they show up again.

4. Message Board additions/subtractions

Tomorrow we will be deleting, consolidating and adding boards. In the coming weeks, we may be adding more boards as our programming changes. As you might notice, we're focusing on programming-related boards and letting many other boards go.

I know that's a lot. I think you'll find that all of this will make your lives sooooo much easier.

We're trying to pull together a meeting with the new admins, a get-together of sorts, probably for Friday morning, prolly around 11 am pacific. But I wanted to let you all in on this now, as soon as we finalized everything.

As I said before, these changes will be happening effective tomorrow, probably in the afternoon. Tho as you can see I already messed with the language filter.

I think they did that stunt to get us old techtv members to leave, either voluntarily, or by saying something that the mods would consider a bannable offense.

They don't want anyone using their forum if that don't watch that crappy station, G4.

G4 is fine if you are young (2-29), and a gamer, but it's just MTV for gamers to me.

I liked the forums, though, but SOME of the mods are jerks (like the ones that banned people for stupid reasons, Acrifolium, for example)

Damn it. I said last night that it was possible that CFH would replace TS, but I deleted the post because it was off-topic in the thread. Why oh why do I keep all my accurate predictions to myself and make all my idiotic ones public? :-/

Yep, I checked there and the boards are still there under Call For Help. IF they had intended on renaming the board, if they intended on bringing back CFH, it should have been in that memo!! G4 would have been heroes!! Rumor has it CFH may be coming back--if it is, can you imagine the show promotion that memo would be??? Either a real, real dumb move or backpedaling from a dumb move...

The reason, or should I say A reason that I believe it was backpeddling, is because the first change they made was creating a NEW header that said something to the effect of "Tech Communities", and placed the Tech Support forum, by itself, under that heading.

Then about an hour or so later, they got rid of that heading altogether, and changed the board name to CFH

Why would they go through all that trouble if they knew they were changing the board name, and not deleting it.

My belief has no basis in fact, it is just an observation I made and am now pointing out
