For the record MS does NOT send emails unless you ask(I did not,nor will I)

I agree, too many people fall for these kind of things....Maybe we should publisise Besttechie and ASAP more, and also help with identity fraud protection....?

I didn't get it today, got it about a couple of weeks ago. Just getting around to reading some posts. I'm a little behind on reading some.

me to from as far away as where i live

im getting emails to buy microsoft products at a reduced price

ive tried to set blocking rules but the buggers keep changing their return address

how ever ive blocked many of them

and now it has got done to a triclke .

the biggest offenders are the pharmacys and microsoft products

i know microsoft dosent email at will

i contacted our local branch

and they said they dont email private individuals

unless it is arranged

but use a throw away email address

i havent got a clue how that works .

Marty:

A throw away address is getting an email account like from Yahoo, Hotmail, or whatever one you want. The FREE email accounts. You subscribe to something and give them that email address instead of your real address you only give out to friends, family etc.

Then if you get too much spam, you can delete that addy, and go back in and make up a new one. This is called throwing it away. Throw away the old and get a new one.

Don't use any part of your name, since you might be deleting it. Use [email protected] or any user name you can be willing to delete.
