Have you already saved a bunch of files to this flash drive and you get this message when you try to save another?

This is indicative of not having the files on the drive orgainized. IE you just saved a whole bunch of JPG files with no file organization. The drive still has free space, but due to the number of files present the root of the table of contents has no more open entries. Hence nothing can be written to the drive and windows thinks the drive is write protected.

The solution here is to move everything from the drive to a folder on your computer, then orgainize it into a folder tree ( a tree of folders and sub folders with files stored in an orgainzed manner).

Once properly organized, if you delete everything from the flash drive or format it you can then copy the organized folders back over and the drive will accept more files .
