I just started using the computer(prior usage was my commodore 64 as a kid), we bought our first one for the family. It was a 2.0 ghz celeron system. I started watching "screens savers" and "call for help". With in a few months I installed Redhat 9 along with XP as a Dual boot. That was the same time I started posting in the techtv forums. Back then using computers was just a fun hobby, now today computers are my job so their not as fun as they used to be. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

martymas Posted July 12, 2008 Report Share Posted July 12, 2008 yes those were the days i had just been introduced to linuxand i bought the three mandrake disksthose days it was a bugger to configure the dialup connection you had to go to the console and do it from thereas i was never a dos man i had all sorts of troublebut some one from the board walked me through it may have been one of you guysused mandrake for about two and a half yearsbut some how it wasent beeing supported by linuxi think it went commercialdont get me wrong it was a good sysbut you had to be anexpert to use it and i wasent in that catorgoryyes linux is a whole new ball game to dayand it is much simplier to use techtv was always experimenting with new sys'sgod it makes me nostalgicmarty Quote Link to post Share on other sites
