Setting Homepage

Recommended Posts

I'm figuring things out, slow but sure, except setting up my own homepage instead of the default.. It's Firefox, but when I click on "Tools" there isn't the "options" tag where I can make the selection. What am I missing

firefox saves your bookmarks as an html file. In windows XP this is located at

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\random.default\bookmarks.html

in linux it is usually stored at

/home/username/.mozilla/firefox/random.default/bookmarks.html

note: any file or directory that starts with a "." is hidden. That means the ".mozilla" directory is hidden.

You will just need to copy the file called "bookmarks.html" from you XP install to replace the "bookmarks.htm"l file on your linux install.

I am not sure why the linux version is in a different spot. I have always wondered why.

its why is the windows version different? its to match IE, but on the Mac and BSD and Solaris is the same as the linux
