Another day of 90+ degrees. The humidity is at 85% and climbing. This is unusual for Upstate NY. I need to borrow a shade tree to work under. My dog has soiled the area around my Apple tree so I can't lay on the ground there.

The Vehicle Speed Sensor and gauge cluster are fine. The harness burned where the wiring from the VSS joins the main harness. I need to jack the truck up and open the harness enclosure from the tranny to the main harness and check those wires.

It was my GMC. The previous owner replaced the transmission and didn't bother to put the transmission bolt through a bracket that helped keep the wiring harness away from the manifold. I'm just glad it didn't wipe out the ECM. I spent three hours this morning routing the harnesses correctly and bolting up the brackets. Now I need to figure out why the speedometer quit working. I'll have to wait for the shade to move around to the truck. It was a bit hairy driving back last night through some nasty cop counties without a speedometer. I made the 70 mile trip in one hour. Many of the areas had 30

Summer has just begun and we have already had several muggy days in the 90s since the onset of Spring. I got stranded 70 miles away from home when a wire burned on the manifold causing a short which melted the fusible link to the computer. What a great day. I had to walk from where my truck cut out to the hospital where my transplant was performed. I sat on a wood bench for three hours waiting to talk with my surgeons. I found out they were busy and I finally saw a resident who said all my tests look good and as long as Iwasn't having problems I could go home. As I left the hospital I saw why

blinkx was in bed with 180Solutions/Zango which is a bad thing. They have supposedly severed that relationship.

CCleaner and ATF Cleaner used wrong can remove necessary items. This thread really doesn't fit in with the topic of this section. This is for Vista tweaks and tips. Those two programs are for cleaning unwanted remnants of any Windows OS.

My two cents. I am alive because I wasn't wearing a seatbelt when I crashed my '66 GTO head-on into a tree at 100 m.p.h. I was thrown through the windshield then bounced off my folded hood back through the windshield into the passenger side of the car. Once I came to and exited the vehicle and saw the damage, I figured I was lucky to be standing there. The rural rescue squad arrived and one of them asked me if I knew of any other survivors. I stated I was the only one in the vehicle. He was dumbfounded as he showed me that my steering wheel and column had gone through the drivers bucket seat w

Actually the AM2 is an Athlon64.

Just because you have 2GB of RAM doesn't mean your computer will utilize all of it 100% of the time. There is no way that your processor is an AMD Athlon. That Abit board is a Socket 940 and accepts an AMD AM2 processor. Your problem may be due to some other reason than the RAM. Letting us know your complete actual hardware would help. It would also help if we knew your system temperatures. Do you have any errors listed in the Event Viewer (Click the Start Button then click Run. Type: eventvwr.msc then press the Enter key.) If there are any errors double click the error then click the clipboar

http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid...R32&phase=1 Everything I have found about this problem deals with a program not shutting down, hardware/driver issue, standy/hibernation and possibly Fast User Switching. Have you checked other active scanning anti-malware apps such as TeaTimer, AdWatch and etc.?

That's all the information shown within the error window when double clicked?

Check the Event Viewer for any errors related to logoff.

Might be a confict with the original software.

Does it get as far as the Windows is shutting down screen? If so try installing User Profile Hive Cleanup Service. Panda's protection would stall my shutdown until I installed UPHClean.

Start stopping programs in Task Manager until the account can log off. You should be able to identify the one hanging.

Wordpad and Notepad are both loaded during install. The same steps for replacing Notepad works for Wordpad. Microsoft Word is a different story. It is a part of Microsoft Office. You would need the Office CD(s) to repair the Word install.

What firewall? Is it set to allow FF or IE Internet access? Double check Network Connection settings. How many programs running in the background? -
Go to Start> Run and type sfc /scanonce hit <Enter>. It will say System File Checker will be run on next boot. Get XP install cd ready and restart PC. It will boot with the ability to pause processes to repair missing or altered dll files. Restart the PC . It will ask you to insert your XP install CD and It will scan all system and dll files and compare them to the ones on the install cd and repair them. If it says failed, hit retry, this will force pause the process so XP can replace the dll. To repair notepad after: Go to this folder C:\Windows\System32\dllcache Click Tools> Fo
