Repair install only effects Windows files - however, once time I did have windows become non-bootable after doing a repair (it was on my home PC) 99% of the time after the repair, all you have to do is reload windows updates, since it reverts you OS to the version from the CD I personally recommend a full install - cleans out all the spyware/viruses. Only downside is backing up customer data, reloading updates, and finding drivers. I'm not a big fan of Toshiba Laptops - especially the satellite, I've worked with a lot of them that have had overheating problems caused by faulty hardware (I mean the motherboard, not just fans)

I've always had to do a repair install after installing a new mobo (that's where the message comes up) Most people will want XP reinstalled (we generally charge $65 for an easy reinstall, if they had recovery/driver CD's to $75 if we have to download drivers ourself) With the MOBO install and an XP reload will run around $100 plus motherboard cost.

I highly recommend AVERTECH laptops - I believe Newegg and other sites have them. They are high quality and they have great tech support

After install it will notice a totally different hardware scheme and reequest activation in the next 3 days - but when you call to reactiviate just say that you reloaded you software. Technically you are supposed to replace the motherboard with an identical version after neccesity of replacing to use Windows on it - but who can afford to pay the extra cash after forking out for a new MOBO?

Considering we're the only people to do things in Farenheight - that's why everyone's used to Celcius. It's an easy conversion anways (F-32) / 9 * 5 I guess it's more convienant since motherboards have the temps in Celcius in the hardware monitor

Just got two 5.25 Bay Temperature Monitors from work for 10 bucks each. Top LCD's show CPU and MOBO Temps in F, bottom LCD's show HDD and Video Card Here's the overall front Closer Even Closer They look a lot better than the pictures show (pics taken on my camera phone) But what do y'all think? On a funny note, I checked Speedfan (which I don't really like, btw) after the install, and it showed my HDD temp as 250 Celcius! 250 C = computer on fire. It went back to normal after a reboot though

I'm pretty sure (like 95% positive) different manufactureres have different drives. It shouldn't be a hassel to buy a CD rom drive for most new companies (i.e. IBM, Dell, Toshiba)

BSOD during windows installation can be caused by anything and everything - a bad CD drive did it to me earlier today - the drive was good enough to read CD's it just choked during XP installation

Okay, I plan on installing a capacitor (1.0 farad or more) into my system. Here is my plan: Cut current power wire (runs from battery to amp) and cut ground (chassis to amp) and have the capacitor in the middle. So... Battery++++++++Cap++++++Amps Chassis------Cap-----------Amps The only thing I am unsure about it whether or not I can have the Cap between the Amp and ground for the ground wire. All things online have shown two wires to the ground, but I only want to run one. As far as circuits go, it looks correct - just help me out if I'm missing somthing obvious here!
