hi tt i allow improtant updates then i turn it so it notifies me of updates and like you i suss them out first it may not be up dates that is causing the trouble if sceeter can access his run box he can get to safe mode he says he has restored and reinstalled vista and the trouble has reoccured so i suggest he has a hard ware problem video card bad hdd and ram check these out marty

in vista try sys properties advanced- startup recovery and uncheck auto restarts this dosent get to the root of the problem i would think you have a hard ware problem got to safe mode and see if the compt has the same problem if so recheck your hard ware video card. hdd. cound card ect then post back marty

hi team thanks for your concern the city i live in had a hell of a shake but not enough to brake things nor injurys south nearer the south pole was pretty big fortunately the poplation is very sparse so there wer no injurys not sure about the damage the american secter had it pretty bad and one man got a broken finger i hope that is all of the injurys those guys do a fantastic job under adverse condition but ime ok thanks all spot ya later marty

yes it has taken me some time to get to grips with it. i find it needs a fair bit of resources for instances i tried to install it on a 16gig hdd 512 mgram 1gig cpu and buggered if i could get it to install once i used a bigger sys it installed ok tho i had to use an external hdd carriage with an eighty gig hdd does any one think it is a resource hog and why didnt it install on the smaller sys any one have any answers so i can retry but yes it is a good sys quite stable to quote matt stable enough to be boring in regards to the ubuntu club it is comming along nice new but we are all l

ime having a good run with 9.4 it has taken me some time to come figure things out but ime getting there slowly we have formed a ubuntu club here in the city ilive in and it is ironical ime the more experenced with it than most of the members and ive showed them how to come to hitests link to get free cd"s fromshipit i do the ordering so far we have 15 menbers some are casuals it seems nzers are reluctant to shift away from windows tho i have both vista and ubuntu it is quite a learning curve using both for certain things it wasent that long ago when i rubbished linux as not beeing use
