hi team im having this trouble with my desktop icons.when i boot my compt it takes 10 mins before my DT icons appear i posted about it some time ago and i thought i had it fixed but it has started again sometimes,my dial up will bring them up.as well when i launch OE anD IE it won open them immidiatly but takes.but takes 1-2 minutes befor i get a responce . once opened every thing is okey dokey. any ideas marty

me to ive had her site in my favourites for some years.and i often visit it now and then. hope she comes here.she was a member of 2-3 other boards.and she left c.f.h with the huffs.because she opened an attachement and got a virus.from the attachment . she posted about it and some one berated her for opening that attachment i think the poster was a regular to the boar.so joker said im outa here and i wont be back.ive been trying to remembe the name of the poster who gave her a hard time.i think it was some one from c.f.h who she got emails from i felt so sorry for her.at the time i posted to

me to i emailed him and i read his post at g4 .i reminded him we were here at B's board il_wiccan wil gring him here.you can count on it. for some reason he was an expert on the registry.he solved 3-4 problems for me through the reg so we need him here. marty

i have it on 2 cds a floppy and a folder on my desk top. if jd gives the go ahead i will copy and paste for you i thought about it when i first came here.but i deciced to wait until the board settled in hell B guess what this board is lookinh like already.ther are a couplam other things ile mention later.your gonna find it a hard job getting me off these boards. every now and the i go to world start to meet up with billmallensen and tommy baseball.have they arrived here yet. marty

thanks for the info on VX2 as i said im not familiar with it.but i think i will go and get that plugin ,i think it takes 416kbs so it is reasonably small. hell to own a compt now you need to be a tech wizard so thankfully there are boards like this to offer thier help. in real terms im a compt dunce .and ive learned through joining boards like this and initially.the forums at techtv.and from the people who manned those boards beluga happened to be one of those.and he was very helpful to some of us nerds. was one of the reasons i joined here. marty

for any one who is inerested ADAWare se has a coupla plugins that could be handy one is now they have a, get rid of mns and windows messenger.incorperated in to their appli. the other is something im not familiar with .vx2 cleaner. but it discovers and cleans .i presume it is malware some one here could enlighten me.i posted this for some one who is interested marty

hi B i bought the ultimate bootdisk and im not sure if it is the ultimate or not here where i live it cost $12. so im on a learning curve on how to use the thing. i bought it because i wanted to use a boot for things other than windows and i refer to mandrake or linux.but in the menu i see there is also boots for dos win9x mac ect i havent been through the menu yet.but i could do with a few pointers. marty

hi how do i delete the nfts partition to put a fts which is on win98se. im tried it before and when i got to the bit that says setup a notice came up saying this cant be setup in dos.and i was told that is because im changing back from nfts to fts. and that the drive needs to be wiped to clear it from nfts. and reset it to fts. im new at this if it was from 98se to xp i can handle that but from xp to 98se is another ball game marty

try pete _c when we were at c.f.h he sent me a tutorial.on different dos stages thi havent used it since we changed boards.dos is pretty facinting. i remember pete said if you can learn dos.properly.you can master any compt marty

hi team i just scanned my d: with house call and avg and both scanners detect a i kill the c-mos trojon my son sent the the cd which had wipe the drive. and i can tremember the other .i ant to istall win98se on a sys that has used winxp and i need to change from nfts to fat and the only way is to wipe the data off the drive. now these scanners are seeing these wipe appli as a virus.my son said they arnt viruses but that is the way the scanners sees them i cant delete them because i cant delelte them from a cd.or can i can some one help
