Good morning Rick, a few questions first !
1. Are you using McAfee for virus protection ?? It can slow down a computer especially while loading ! Windows Defender which comes with Windows 10 is a great protector, that is all i have ever used & never caught anything !!
2. Is this W10 system ??

Download https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/otl_(oldtimers_list_it).html to your desk top !
If you already have a copy of OTL delete it and use this version.
* Double click OTL.exe to launch the program.
* Check the following.* Scan all users.
* Standard Output.
* Lop check.
* Purity check.
* Under Extra Registry section, select Use SafeList
* Click the Run Scan button and wait for the scan to finish (usually about 10-15 mins).
* When finished it will produce two logs.OTL.txt (open on your desktop).
Extras.txt (minimised in your taskbar) The Extras.txt file will only appear the very first time you run OTL.Post those logs please & i will type up you a script to delete what needs to go !!

Did you download Farbar to your desk top ?? It must be dwnloaded to there ! If it's there open it & see if the report is there or click your mouse here into your topic to see if it captured it there !! If none of this works then re-run it !!

* run AdwCleaner by clicking on Scan Now
* when it has finished, leave everything that was found checked, (ticked), then click on Clean and Repair
* if it asks to reboot, allow the reboot

* run the program

* click on the ‘Scan’ tab, (directly below the Dashboard tab)
* select the Threat Scan option
* slick the Scan Now button
* Threat Scan will begin
* when the scan has completed and if malware was found, click the Quarantine Selected button to allow MBAM to quarantine what was found
* if prompted to restart the computer, close all other programs and click Yes to restart your computer
* once you are back at your desktop, open MBAM once more
* click on the ‘Reports’ tab
* double-click on the most recent Scan Report
* click on Export, then Copy to Clipboard

Open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
* click the Settings tab,at the top choose Protection and tick Scan for rootkits.
* Click the Dashboard tab, choose Scan, Threat Scan is checked and click Start Scan.
* If threats are detected, click the Apply Actions button. You will now be prompted to reboot. Click Yes.
* Upon completion of the scan (or after the reboot), click the Reports tab.
* Double-click the Scan Log.
* At the bottom click Export and choose Text file.* Save the file to your desktop and include its content in your next reply.
* You can access the logs by going in the "Reports" tab, clicking on the latest "Scan" entry (the one with detections), then clicking on the "Export" button in the bottom-left corner and select "Copy to clipboard". After that, all you have to do is paste it here.

* it will produce a log called Frst.txt in the same directory the tool is run from
* please copy and paste log back here.
* the first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the Frst.txt into your reply.

As a web browser, Chromium is inherently less stable than Chrome, which means it crashes more often and can exhibit other types of undesirable behavior.
So in my opinion as a Malware Removal Specialist i would stay away from it, i do not need my computer to crash !

Hey hpg3, nope your IP address is from your Internet Provider ! So you keep the same IP ...... but you can get a mask IP, which means they hide your IP from anonymity ! ExpressVPN and CyberGhost are both excellent options but they do charge for their services. Long story short: whichever service you pick, you just download an app, run it, and use it to connect to the VPN on demand. It's really that simple. You can Google up some free ones but no one i know have ever used a fake IP !!
