  1. Howdy Russell18 and welcome to BestTechie forums ! The number one fix for this is usually a bad driver ! So let's start there.

    1. Press Windows key + R to open up a Run dialog box. Then, inside the text box, type “dvmgmt.msc” and press Enter to open up Device Manager. If prompted by the UAC (User Account Control), click Yes to grant admin privileges, Once you’re inside Device Manager, right-click on the device that is causing the issue and choose Properties from the newly appeared context menu.

    • Inside the properties screen, select the Events tab, then go over to the Events section.
    • Analyze each Timestamp carefully and see which one has the newest date. That point is the one that you should be looking at (not the first).
    • Note: If one of the latest Timestamps has a Device Installed description, it most likely means that the driver for that device installed successfully and there’s nothing wrong with it.

    • If you’ve followed the instructions above to confirm that you’re looking at the correct TimeStamp and you confirmed that the latest Event is showing ‘Device requires further installation !

    • Once you’re inside Device Manager, go through the list of available devices and right-click on the one that you’re encountering issues with. Then, choose Update device from the newly appeared context menu.

    • That should update the bad driver !!

  2. hpg3, so says weboot that Webroot and Norton don't interfere with each other. There is no system slowdown and the system is just slightly slower as if using Norton alone (of course the lightest config is using Webroot only). ... Webroot and Norton play very nice together. No interaction or issues have been encountered Webroot is competitive, but Norton is the better choice as it offers more security-enhancing features and utilities in its security products. Also, independent tests prove that Norton is better than Webroot in terms of both malware detection and the impact on system performance.

So in my opinion if you google up running 2 antivirus and see what you get, most say 2 antivirus do not play well together !

    So it's your choice !!

    Chuck

  3. Howdy hpg3, no most antivirus do not play together nicely ! Some will even report the other as a virus ! Norton is a far better antivirus than weeboot but Norton is also a resource hog ! Why are you still using W7 when a lot of the programs will not have support like drivers & some will stop working altogether ??? You can get a free Windows 10 install if your computer will run it !!

  4. Howdy Marvin Moore & welcome to the forum, we jhope you enjoy your stay here & contribute to our community !

In my opinion you should learn to use a different browser to start with, Mozilla (fire fox) is my main browser which you can block these unwanted web sites & also the new Edge from Microsoft you can also block them ! Plus there is a blocker called AbBlock that can be used to block them also which i use ! It use to be that Google Chrome was easy to hack, so i stopped using it long ago so i'm not sure on that now since they have re-modified it !

  5. Howdy Mikegold & welcome to the forums ! First off i'm not sure of what

    the identical issue.

You are pointing to !! Also the IE browser is being replaced by the "Edge" so maybe you should try it !! They have also done a lot of work in upgrading & fixing problems they use to have with the Chrome Browser ! Which i do not use anymore but i use The Edge, Mozilla (firefox) !!
